IULM UNIVERSITY
Visioni Tattili
During the 2023 Milan Design Week, the IULM University Exhibition Hall is hosting several exclusive works of art from the Alcantara art archive with the Visioni Tattili (Tactile Visions) exhibition.
Four masterpieces that tell the story of the relationship between Alcantara and the world of Art (collected in the book ALCANTARA, La Materia dell’Arte) retracing some of the stages that for over ten years have seen Alcantara engaged in the co-production of artistic events all over the world.
“Through Alcantara. The Beauty of Innovation”, is the name of the installation exhibited at the ADI Design Museum in Milan and inaugurated during the Car Design Award 2023.
The creative work is inspired by “Through the Looking-Glass”, Lewis Carroll’s visionary novel: The name is designed to evoke the concept of crossing a border and discovering on the other side a wonderful world to explore, which enchants and inspires, such as Alcantara.
“Tale of wonder” is the name of the project developed in collaboration with Studiopepe: three large portals opened on Milan and Design Week. Piazza Gae Aulenti, Via Palestro and Via Croce Rossa are the places chosen for the three doors of different symbolism: the celebration of the horizon of the new Milan, the link between art and nature and the nerve centre of the Fuorisalone districts.
VANITY FAIR SOCIAL GARDEN
Wish Tree
Alcantara participated in the new edition of Vanity Fair Social Garden, a programme of workshops and talks open to all and dedicated to the theme of the Green change.
For the occasion, soft touch material was transformed into leaves on which guests left their messages to hang on the large Wish Tree.
ARCHIPRODUCTS
Earth
Alcantara is one of the companies selected by Studiopepe for the special installation in the Archiproducts space in via Tortona 31 that debuted during the days of Design Week. The set up is a tribute to the Earth, in a path that immerses the viewer in a sensory and chromatic experience.
Materials including Alcantara, incarnated for the occasion as elegant curtains, a wall covering, and upholstery for seats, cushions and items of décor, revealing its innate versatility and countless possible applications in interior design.
